CONCEPT PROJECT – Story and Journey

This final concept project is a repeat of the previous one; allowing you to express something you’re learning using a system that you already know. If you didn’t do that project, be sure and read through that assignment first (click here).

In this project I simply want you to add elements of timing to your design. In fact, you could quite possibly use all the cues from your previous project, simply finesse the timing, add nuance to the experience of transitions. With that said, coming back to a project is always a good chance to take another stab at what didn’t work – so perhaps you want to start over on a few cues, or perhaps start over on the entire design.

Once again, the files you’ll need can be accessed from the Up and Running with ETC EOS folder you hopefully already downloaded, otherwise you can access it all from this link. In that folder you’ll find …

• A magic sheet to help you understand the purpose of each system of lights and each individual light itself

I would encourage you in this assignment to stretch yourself with timing. If a split fade is easy to create, try a part cue, or a cue sequence with follows or hangs.

And once again, this is a fantastic opportunity for the work of editing. Come back to your old cues and decide what you want to change now that you have a little bit of time.
