Dynamic EQ
Alright. That’s enough machine gun. Sometimes it’s nice to take an organic sound like the growl of a lion, and make it sound like or represent something else. Here, let’s make this sound like a hungry tummy. Because this is what mine sounds like.
- Open the “Lion Growl.wav” file.
- Let’s cut out the higher sounds using the FFT Filter tool … Effects > Filter and EQ > FFT Filter
- This effect will apply a much harsher version of the Parametric EQ. Like the Param EQ, this will lower any sound over a specific frequency; however, rather than dropping it a few dB, this will actually completely remove the sound.
- From the presets, select “Underwater – Shallow”.
- Play around, adding, removing, and moving the envelopes until you’re happy.
- Hit OK
- Someone is hungry!
