Save a File
Save Early. Save Often. I cannot stress this enough. The good news is that EOS will automatically retain the current state of your show after any action you perform. If you were to close the software and then re-open it, you should see what you were working on before. But this isn’t the same as autosaving, if you were to open another file then go back to your first file, you’ll have lost everything. So saving is still a very necessary part of your process.
To save a file, open the CIA and double click the Save option from the File Menu. EOS will ask you if you’re sure, which you are, so hit [OK] and you’ll see the software chuguluglug then return you to the menu.
That’s it …
If you’re a hotkeys person, pressing Shift+Update (or Shift+U) will do the same thing.
By the way, every time you save, it does what we call “Versioning”, meaning it’ll save a new version of the file rather than overwriting the file. This means you can go backwards to an old copy of your show quickly and easily. The more often you save, the more options you have.
