Intro
Lighting design is an art which demands finesse. But before you can get there, you need to know how to just turn on a light and record a cue!
These videos cover that basic functionality. If you already know how to take channel 5 to full, I would recommend still watching these. The syntax for this board, or the specific steps, might be different on an EOS board. Or you already know how to use an EOS board, you might learn tricks, tips, and short cuts to make your work quicker.
If you’re an assistant to the lighting designer or a board op, this might be a bit of information overload, but follow along and then try out your skills on your real light board or on the software version on your computer. You’ll probably be asked to edit and update cues while in rehearsal; and the faster you are, the more likely it is that you can help. The more you’re able to punch numbers at a rapid pace the more fun you’ll have! The more you’re able to participate in the process of artistic creation, the more meaningful your experience will be.
